Description:

A stunning example of an early Staffordshire cat, modelled sitting on a raised, relief moulded base. Very well decorated in vivid childlike brushstrokes of black, ochre and purple. The eyes, the only facial feature decorated, picked out with tiny black dots. Sublime.

Circa 1790-5

Approx - 3.5 inches (90mm) tall.

In very good condition throughout with some paint losses to the base and a tiny firing crack to the right ear.
